The move of president Trump to maintain the appointment of Sheriff in the office attracted a lot of attention of the public arena. People in the community had seen the act of maintaining him in the office marks the concept of doom on the side of the promotion of the human rights. Some of the prominent people that came to criticize the step of president Trump was Larkin and Lacey. The two had been in the scene of journalism before venturing into the world of philanthropists to boost the civil and human rights in the society. They had been victims of the Sheriff administration after exposing the corruption in the office to the public.

Larkin and Lacey were arrested in 2007 after deciding to let public knew how the bad governance of Sheriff was taking aback the matters of development in the society. The information was found in their article that went viral making Sheriff to take action on the two journalists after sensing suspicion. They were taken to the jail at the night while operating their usual activities at their house.

The excellent reputation that Larkin and Lacey had stabilized in the community made the public demand for their release. Sheriff was vied as taking the agenda of the equality in the society backward through the means that he was using in his administration to approach the solution to different matters.

The demand by the public for the release of the Larkin and Lacey forced the people in charge of their case to ignore. They then sued the county for the approach their case and arrested unlawfully. Discrimination of the refugees had been experienced in various parts of the United States mostly in the workplaces. Larkin and Lacey were in the forefront in addressing the issues by using their foundation known as Larkin and Lacey Florentina Fund.

The two were the one who drafted the objectives of the unions and gave the time frame to all the goals. The primary mission of the agency in the field was to allow the small unions fighting for the human rights access the better avenues of approaching solution to different matters.

Michael after his release from detention gave the public problems faced by the inmates in prison. The main one was the challenges of the unwelcoming environment which was not fit for their stay. Furthermore, they could not access water to bath though the temperatures were high in the jail. The food served to the inmates were not well cooked as a way of punishing them, and this made most of the inmates to commit suicide while in prison.

Michael Lacey was born as the son of a construction work, but he decided to become a journalist. In college, Lacey partnered up with Jim Larkin, and they haven’t separated since. They worked together on a college newsletter to counteract the conservative views their school had towards student protesting. This was the first time they have worked to combat oppression, and they are still doing the same today.

Their investigations in to former Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio lead to their first amendment rights being violated. After a story about the contents of a subpoena were published, Joe Arpaio ordered his officers to arrest Lacey and Larkin, who at the time owned the Phoenix New Times.

Other reporters and journalists were not just going to sit around and watch their peers be illegally detained. Publications from all over the country wrote about the incident. The response was so livid, Arpaio and Maricopa County had no choice but to release Lacey and Larkin. Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin filed a lawsuit. They were awarded $3.75 million.

The two journalists created a new outlet to voice their views. They created Front Page Confidential. With the money from the settlement, the duo were able to create a specialized publication to combat political injustices. Recently, Front Page Confidential published a story about Rob Portman’s lies relating to a new sex-trafficking bill. Portman’s lies possibly stem from his own misunderstanding of current laws.

Another, more charitable organization was created with the settlement money. The Frontera Fund works in association with several charities in the Arizona area to provide a better life and sense of security for residents. The Frontera Fund has worked with wide-reaching organizations like ACLU and more goal oriented organizations like Aliento.
