The lifetime of all individuals on the planet will be filled with many minor, and for some, a few major health issues. But one health issue that all in the world will face is aging
For the most part aging and its effects are considered to be an inescapable process of life regardless of the habits of the individual. It is generally accepted that the skin will one day begin to wrinkle, bones will lose strength, and the accompanying medical conditions of age will begin to affect an individual’s quality of life.
However, Jason Hope, an entrepreneur, and philanthropist from Arizona has a different mindset. Jason is on a mission to slow, and actually, reverse the aging process in individual and is willing to commit his own money to the process.
Jason Hope has been supportive of the work performed by the SENS Foundation which works to allow individuals access to technology that is capable of countering the process of aging and its accompanying illness. Jason began his support of the organization in December of 2010 with a $500,000 donation.
The initial donation to SENS made by Jason Hope was announced formally at an event held in San Francisco entitled Breakthrough Philanthropy.
The Sens Foundation is among a handful of organizations in the country that makes use of biotechnology to both address and develop preventative measures for disease in order to provide individuals with a higher quality of life. This biotech industry concentrates its efforts on the effects of living organisms and systems of organisms can have on the health of the human body.
Biotechnology also centers around the need to improve agricultural products, improved food production methods, and a better understanding of how medicines can be used to combat the effects of aging.
The Sens Research Foundation was founded in March of 2009 and in addition to their efforts at physically confronting the effects of aging, the foundation is equally focused on positively affecting public perception regarding the aging process in order to alert individuals to the potential of a revolutionary change in the way the aging process is approached.
The donations made to the SENS Foundation by Jason hope facilitate the development of medicines referred to as AGE-breakers. These drugs are intended to prevent the buildup of substances in the body that cause the skin to become rigid as well a lead to age-related illnesses and disease. Modern medicine has successfully developed these products for small animals but it is the hope of Jason Hope and the SENS Foundation to now make these compounds available to humans.
